Indonesian motivator and entrepreneur Jamil Azzaini stated that the\nDirectorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) of\nthe Ministry of Internal Affairs plays a crucial role in protecting\nnational identity. This role, he noted, is also intertwined with the\nrealisation of citizens\u2019 rights.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt turns out that without Dukcapil, many citizens\u2019 rights cannot be\nrealised,\u201d he said at the launch event of Clean Population Data for\nSemester II 2025 at Hotel Bidakara in South Jakarta on Thursday, 12\nMarch 2026.<\/p>\n
He assessed that data compiled by Dukcapil serves as the foundation\nfor the government in implementing public policy. Examples include\nchildren\u2019s right to education, citizens\u2019 right to healthcare, and the\nright to elect leaders.<\/p>\n
In this way, the work of the directorate general, led by Teguh\nSetyabudi, also plays a role in determining the future of the Indonesian\nnation. Without accurate data, state administration according to Azzaini\ncannot run optimally.<\/p>\n
Moreover, Azzaini believes that a modern state must have three data\nfoundations in formulating development plans. Most important and\nparamount is population data, followed by economic data and regional\ndata. \u201cIt turns out that they (Dukcapil) are guardians of the nation\u2019s\nidentity sovereignty,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
In the launch of Clean Population Data for Semester II 2025,\nIndonesia\u2019s population stands at 288,315,089 people. This figure\nincreased by 1,621,396 people when compared with Semester I of 2025.<\/p>\n
The male population is recorded as more dominant with 145,498,092\npeople, whilst the female population is smaller at 142,816,997 people.\nThe government will consider this ratio as a reference for long-term\nplanning in reproductive health, education, and social welfare.<\/p>\n
Likewise, Teguh also stated that population data is an essential\nelement in running the state. Such data, according to him, is like a\nlarge map that describes Indonesia\u2019s condition.<\/p>\n
Through this map, Indonesia can see the direction of development and\nprepare steps for the future. Population data is not merely a collection\nof continuously changing figures, but also reflects society\u2019s diversity.\nWith a single national population database, the government can promote\nthe realisation of a more integrated, productive, and prosperous\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom this map, we can read the direction of Indonesia\u2019s journey\nwhilst preparing resources for the future,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Because of this, Teguh urged citizens who do not yet have population\ndata to visit their local Dukcapil office. Moreover, all population\nadministration services are provided free of charge.<\/p>\n
Teguh hopes that citizens who are charged money when obtaining\npopulation administration services will immediately report this to law\nenforcement officials. According to him, such reports can also be\nsubmitted to the Ditjen Dukcapil ranks or their local regional head.<\/p>\n
