Mother, son killed at home<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A young mother and her son were killed on
\nWednesday afternoon in their one-room rental home in Lebak Bulus,
\nSouth Jakarta, police and hospital officials said on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Komariah, 21, was found dead, lying on a mat with open wounds
\non her neck and right side of her abdomen, while her three-year-
\nold son laid next to her with slash wounds to his head and neck.<\/p>\n
A forensic examination revealed the neck wounds were the cause
\nof death. Komariah's body also had many wounds, possibly caused
\nby hard and blunt objects.<\/p>\n
A neighbor, Tumirah, said she heard the little boy scream, but
\nignored him as she was watching the country's presidential
\nelection which was broadcasted live at noon.<\/p>\n
The victim's husband, Suyuti, a carpenter, said when he came
\nhome at 5 p.m. he found the door, the windows and curtains of his
\nhouse tightly shut and that he entered the house through his
\nneighbor's bathroom, which lies adjacent to his room.<\/p>\n
"My house was in a mess, our clothes were scattered on the
\nfloor. Pools of blood were everywhere. But nothing was missing,"
\nSuyuti said, adding that neither he nor his wife had any enemies.<\/p>\n
Police said they questioned two scavengers in the
\nneighborhood, including Suyuti, his nephew and Tumirah. The
\ninvestigation into the murder is still being conducted.<\/p>\n
Police said they found a blood-stained shirt belonging to
\nSuyuti in a bucket and took it for further examination. Suyuti
\nsaid he did not know why the shirt was soaking in the bucket as
\nit was washed and hanging on the wall when he left home in the
