Moslem preacher survives shooting<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A group of unidentified men driving in a jeep
\nshot at Kyai Nur Muhammad Hasan's car, damaging the car's
\nwindshield and rearview mirror.<\/p>\n
The outspoken Moslem preacher was unhurt in the incident which
\ntook place on the Tangerang-Serang toll road in West Java at 9:00
\np.m. on Thursday, his assistant Sarbini said last night.<\/p>\n
Nur was busy giving a lecture in Central Jakarta last night
\nand was therefore not available for comment.<\/p>\n
\"It is still a mystery,\" Sarbini told The Jakarta Post.<\/p>\n
Sarbini quoted Nur as saying that he and his driver were aware
\nthat a Toyota Hardtop jeep had been following them for a few
\nminutes before the shooting.<\/p>\n
One passenger fired two shots as the jeep overtook Nur's car,
\nSarbini said.<\/p>\n
Nur, who is the proprietor of a traditional Islamic boarding
\nschool in Jakarta, was on his way to Serang to give a lecture, he
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Last year Nur led a delegation of Moslem ulemas to the House
\nof Representatives to protest the government-sponsored national
