Morning quake wakes Bandung<\/p>\n
BANDUNG: Residents of Bandung looking forward to a lazy Sunday
\nmorning were awakened by an earthquake measuring 5.4 on the
\nRichter scale.<\/p>\n
The local Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said the 30-second
\nearthquake jolted the city at 7:55 a.m.<\/p>\n
According to the agency, the tremor could be felt in a number
\nof West Java towns, including Sukabumi, Indramayu, Subang and
\nSumedang. Even parts of Jakarta were said to have felt the quake.<\/p>\n
No immediate reports of casualties or damage was reported in
\nBandung.<\/p>\n
The epicenter of the quake was believed to be somewhere along
\nthe northern coast of West Java, or east of Jakarta.<\/p>\n
The head of the Bandung Institute of Technology, Nanang T.
\nPuspito, said the tremor was caused by a movement at the
\nsubduction zone, pushing the Indo-Australian continental shelf
\nagainst the Eurasian shelf.<\/p>\n
Bandung was shaken by an earthquake measuring 6.3 on the
