More sodomy victims found<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Two boys rounded up by Central Jakarta Police
\ntold the officers they had been victims of sodomy. The two were
\namong 15 boys picked up on Friday.<\/p>\n
One of the boys, identified only as A.M., said that a man he
\ncalled Bang (brother) Edy once sodomized him before forcing him
\nto become a beggar.<\/p>\n
Edy is now believed to live in Palembang, South Sumatra.<\/p>\n
Another victim, Al, said he had once been sodomized by a
\nfriend, identified as Heru. Al did not go into detail.<\/p>\n
The 15 boys, aged between nine and 15 years old, are mostly
\nshoeshine boys operating around the Istiqlal Mosque, Senen and
\nGambir railway stations in Central Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Central Jakarta Police Chief Lt. Col. Abubaker Nataprawira
\nconfirmed the boy's reports, which matched the medical team
\nreports on the two.<\/p>\n
Central Jakarta Police also picked up 17 male street children
\non Thursday night, six of them are said to have been sodomized.<\/p>\n
Police have intensified their inquires among street children
\nfollowing the finding of eight boy's dead bodies believed to have
\nbeen murdered before being sodomized.<\/p>\n
Abubakar hopes the operation will give him a clue with which
\nto solve the recent sadistic killing of eight boys.<\/p>\n
East Jakarta Police have detained three men over the crime.
\nThey reportedly admitted to sodomizing the boys but denied
\nkilling them.<\/p>\n
The case has become another tough case for the police who have
\nbeen busy staging controversial raids to check for Ecstasy at
\nnightspots.<\/p>\n
Also on Friday, the Central Jakarta' public order office
\narrested a man for gun possession during crackdowns on seven
\nnightspots.<\/p>\n
Bunyamin Mursid, the head of the office, said the gun owner,
\nidentified as Franky Raweyay, was arrested at Fabrices pub, Wisma
\nGKBI building on Jl. MH Thamrin.<\/p>\n
"The man was sent to the Jakarta Military Garrison for further
\nprocessing," Bunyamin said.<\/p>\n
Other establishments raided on that day included the Joker Bar
\non Jl. Jati Baru, Indah Sari Bar on Jl. K.S. Tubun, Jaya Pub in
\nJaya building on Jl. M.H. Thamrin, Jumpa Discotheque in
\nEquatorial Hotel on Jl. Tanah Abang, Karaoke Zen in Menara
\nThamrin building on Jl. M.H. Thamrin and Sabang Asih massage
\nparlor on Jl. Palmerah Utara.<\/p>\n
Dozens of couples who were netted in the raids were released
\nafter presenting their identification cards.<\/p>\n
Prostitutes netted in the massage parlor were sent to a social
\nservice institute, in Kebun Jeruk, West Jakarta. (jun)<\/p>",
