        "content": "<p>More rebel changes guilty plea<\/p>\n<p>PHILIPPINES: A man who had said he was guilty of murder in<br>\nconnection with near-simultaneous bombings that killed 22 people<br>\nabout three years ago withdrew his plea on Tuesday, saying he was<br>\ncoerced by the military and did not understand the language used<br>\nin the proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>Saifullah Yunos, also known as Moklis Yunos, said in a motion<br>\nfiled by his lawyer that he &quot;did not mean to admit&quot; the<br>\naccusations against him because he could not understand the<br>\nTagalog and English language translations of the charges.<\/p>\n<p>A self-confessed member of the separatist Moro Islamic<br>\nLiberation Front arrested in May, Yunos said he speaks and<br>\nunderstands only Arabic and Maranao, one of the Muslim languages<br>\nin the southern Philippines. Tagalog is the dominant language in<br>\nthe Philippines.<\/p>\n<p>Despite his plea, the judge announced he will still hold a<br>\ntrial because of the gravity of the multiple murder charges,<br>\nwhich carry the death penalty. --AP<\/p>",
