        "content": "<p>More flights for Fakfak<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): State-owned PT Merpati Nusantara Airlines has<br>\nadded more flights to and from Fakfak, northwest Irian Jaya, from<br>\none to four flights a week.<\/p>\n<p>Merpati General Sales Agent in Fakfak, Ferdiana Thie, said on<br>\nSaturday the airline will service the Biak-Nabire-Kaimana-Fakfak-<br>\nSorong route on Sundays and Thursdays, and the reverse route on<br>\nTuesdays and Fridays, using a Twin Otter airplane, Antara said.<\/p>\n<p>Passengers traveling on Friday can take advantage of a<br>\nstraight connecting flight from Biak to Jayapura, capital of West<br>\nPapua, as Irian Jaya is now popularly called.<\/p>\n<p>In spite of the greater flight frequency, there is a long<br>\nwaiting list of 300 passengers for flights out of Fakfak,<br>\naccording to an airline sales staff.<\/p>\n<p>The surge in the number of passengers followed the docking of<br>\ntwo PT Pelni's cruise ships, KM Rinjani and KM Pangrango, which<br>\nserve the Fakfak-Jayapura route.
