More dismissals at PT DI<\/p>\n
BANDUNG: State-owned aircraft maker PT Dirgantara Indonesia
\n(PT DI) will dismiss another 550 of its employees as part of its
\nrestructuring efforts.<\/p>\n
Chairman of the company's Employees' Communication Forum (FKK)
\nArif Minardi said on Tuesday that the management had offered the
\n550 employees early retirement packages.<\/p>\n
\"The management should be transparent. There must be clear
\nreasons given for the employees to be retired,\" Arif told
\nreporters.<\/p>\n
The move to undertake further restructuring was based on a
\ndecision of the Financial Sector Policy Committee that was signed
\nby its chairman Rizal Ramli on Nov. 10, 2000.<\/p>\n
Based on an audit conducted by Ernst & Young SDM, it was
\ndetermined that a total of 7,000 employees would be ideal for the
\ncompany. This meant that another 3,000 employees would have to
\nretire early.<\/p>\n
Arif said that the company had dismissed many employees as
\npart of its restructuring efforts. \"But management has yet to be
\nimproved. For us employees, all the members of the board of
\ndirectors deserve to be dismissed. They have performed very
