PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) is introducing a 30 per cent fare\ndiscount programme for journeys using Commercial Economy class trains.\nThis programme offers the public an opportunity to enjoy more\ncost-effective travel during the school holiday season, whether for\ntourism, visiting family, or various activities in various destination\ncities.<\/p>\n
Anne Purba, Vice President of Corporate Communication at KAI, stated\nthat the school holiday period is one of the times with high public\nmobility. During this period, many families utilise their time together\nto travel to various regions. Consequently, KAI is introducing more\naffordable fare programmes so that more people can plan trips using\ntrain transportation.<\/p>\n

The 30 per cent discount is applicable for ticket purchases starting\nfrom 6 June 2026 through all official KAI sales channels. The discounted\nfares can be used for travel between 20 June and 5 July 2026, coinciding\nwith the school holiday period in various regions.<\/p>\n
According to Anne, this programme is expected to assist the public in\nplanning their journeys early while providing an economical transport\nalternative amidst the increasing demand for travel during the holiday\nseason. Railways are also a preferred choice as they offer punctuality,\ntravel comfort, and ease of access to various destination cities.<\/p>\n
Various Commercial Economy train routes serving intercity journeys\ncan be utilised by the public to reach tourist destinations, educational\ncentres, cultural areas, and economic hubs across various regions. The\npresence of this discount programme also supports public movement during\nthe school holidays while encouraging economic activity in the regions\ntraversed by the trains.<\/p>\n

Discounted fares can be purchased through all ticket sales\nchannels starting 6 June 2026.<\/p><\/li>\n
The discount applies to departures between 20 June and 5 July\n2026.<\/p><\/li>\n
