        "content": "<p>Monorail transport<\/p>\n<p>From Warta Kota<\/p>\n<p>Following the launching of the trans-Jakarta busway system,<br>\nthe Jakarta provincial government plans to build a monorail<br>\ntransport project for the city starting this year.<\/p>\n<p>Costing Rp 4.59 trillion, it will cover the routes of Kampung<br>\nMelayu-Roxy (12.7 km) and Kuningan-Sudirman-Setia Budi (14.3 km)<br>\nand be handled by a private, foreign firm.<\/p>\n<p>Upon its completion, this project is expected to reduce<br>\ntraffic congestion, though I am not so sure of it because the<br>\nnumber of motor vehicles keeps increasing every year.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Jakarta administration should popularize the<br>\nmonorail system, particularly among those whose property may be<br>\naffected by the project, so that they are informed of the value<br>\nof compensation to be received.<\/p>\n<p>Any disputes that may arise from compensation payments should<br>\nbe settled through consultations, because the present era no<br>\nlonger relies on force as was the case in the New Order period.<\/p>\n<p>M.
