        "content": "<p>Traffic volume on the Cikopo\u2013Palimanan (Cipali) toll road experienced\na decline on Monday 16 March. Based on information gathered, traffic\nflow on the Cipali toll road from 00:00 to 12:00 on Monday (16\/3) saw\napproximately 25,000 vehicles passing through Cikopo heading towards\nCirebon. \u201cThe traffic volume was 16.6 per cent lower than the volume\nduring the same hours the previous day,\u201d stated Ardam Rafif Trisilo,\nHead of Sustainability Management &amp; Corporate Communications at\nAstra Tol Cipali, on Monday (16\/3).<\/p>\n<p>From the opposite direction, approximately 10,000 vehicles were\nrecorded passing through Cikopo heading towards Jakarta. Overall,\ntraffic volume on the Cipali toll road was 12.1 per cent lower than\nduring the same hours the previous day.<\/p>\n<p>The previous day, Sunday (15\/3), traffic flow towards Cirebon\nincreased. From 00:00 to 17:00, approximately 40,000 vehicles passed\nthrough Cikopo heading towards Cirebon. This figure represented an 11.3\nper cent increase compared to traffic volume during the same period on\nSaturday, 14 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>From the opposite direction, approximately 18,000 vehicles passed\nthrough Cikopo heading towards Jakarta. Overall, traffic volume on the\nCipali toll road increased by approximately 7.1 per cent compared to the\nsame period on the previous day.<\/p>\n<p>Ardam further noted that a 30 per cent toll rate discount remains in\neffect today. The toll rate discount has been applied since Sunday\n(15\/3) until today for toll road users making continuous journeys from\nCikampek Utama Toll Gate to Kalikangkung Toll Gate. \u201cWe encourage the\npublic to take advantage of this toll rate discount programme\neffectively and to plan their journeys wisely,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>A toll rate discount also applies during the same period on the\nTangerang-Merak toll road section for users making continuous journeys\nfrom Cikupa Toll Gate to Merak Toll Gate.<\/p>\n<p>During the return leg of holiday travel, on the Tangerang-Merak toll\nroad section, a 30 per cent discount will be reapplied on Thursday, 26\nMarch 2026 from 00:00 to Friday, 27 March 2026 at 24:00 for users making\ncontinuous journeys through Merak toll gate to Cikupa Toll Gate.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, on the Cipali toll road section, a 30 per cent toll rate\ndiscount will be reapplied on Thursday (26\/3) from 00:00 to Friday\n(27\/3) at 24:00 for users making continuous journeys from Kalikangkung\nToll Gate to Cikampek Utama Toll Gate.<\/p>\n<p>The authority urged all road users to regularly ensure their\nvehicle\u2019s roadworthiness before travelling, including verifying the\nvehicle is in optimal condition, ensuring adequate fuel or battery\ncharge for electric vehicles, maintaining sufficient electronic money\ncredit, and ensuring the driver is in good physical condition.<\/p>\n<p>Based on police data, motorcycle accident figures during the Eid\nholiday exodus reached concerning levels at 75.9 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>The first peak of the holiday travel wave occurred on Saturday (14\/3)\nand Sunday (15\/3). The second wave is estimated to occur on Wednesday\n(18\/3) and Thursday (19\/3).<\/p>\n<p>On Monday (16\/3), the number of holiday travellers entering Central\nJava via the Trans Java Toll Road continued to increase since Sunday\n(15\/3), with an average of approximately 1,400\u20131,900 vehicles entering\nSemarang city.<\/p>\n<p>The increase in holiday travel volume and the large number of\ntravellers running out of e-toll credit have been cited as reasons for\nqueuing congestion.<\/p>\n<p>Five days before Eid 2026, PT ASDP Ternate Branch recorded an\nincrease in passenger flow on the Ternate\u2013Moti, Makian, and Sofifi\nroutes.<\/p>",
