The perpetrator who threw a Molotov cocktail, mistakenly hitting a\nmother carrying her child in Koja, North Jakarta, has fled his home.\nPolice are now hunting for those responsible for the attack.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred on Jalan Mandiri II, Koja, on Monday (22\/6) at\naround 09.00 WIB. CCTV footage shows a Molotov cocktail being thrown\nnear a house. The device exploded as a mother riding a motorcycle with\nher child passed by. She subsequently crashed into a resident\u2019s wall\nwhile trying to avoid the blast and fell.<\/p>\n
Koja Police Chief Kompol Andry Suharto stated that four individuals\nwere involved in the Molotov cocktail attack. Investigations have\nidentified the thrower by the initial M. Police revealed that M has an\nex-wife, identified as R, and M was reportedly unable to accept that R\nhad a new boyfriend, identified as U. Ironically, according to police, M\nalso already has a new partner.<\/p>\n
M is said to have targeted U\u2019s family, specifically U\u2019s uncle,\nidentified as K. The man K was the actual target of the Molotov cocktail\nat the scene. He is the man seen in the CCTV footage holding a mobile\nphone near a house. \u201cM was jealous of R and U. His jealousy was\nmisplaced, targeting U\u2019s family. In the video, you can see a man sitting\nand holding a phone, that is U\u2019s uncle, initial K,\u201d said Andry.<\/p>\n
In the CCTV recording, K is seen wearing a blue shirt. He dodged when\nthe Molotov exploded nearby. K and several other people then ran after\nthe perpetrator who threw the Molotov. At the same time, the mother\ncarrying her child passed by the scene. The Molotov explosion nearly set\nher motorcycle on fire.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe perpetrator came to K\u2019s house again, shouting from a distance.\nThe Molotov was thrown at K, but missed and landed on the road. Then the\nmother on the motorcycle passed by. The mother did not know the\nperpetrator or anyone there. The perpetrator intended to throw it at K,\nbut missed, and the mother was passing by,\u201d he explained. The mother and\nchild then fell after hitting a resident\u2019s wall when the Molotov\nexploded right beside them. Andry stated that the mother and child did\nnot suffer any burns.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne person threw the Molotov, but when he arrived, he was with about\nthree friends. Only one person threw it,\u201d he said, adding that all four\nperpetrators are being hunted.<\/p>\n
Police have visited the home of M, the suspected Molotov thrower in\nKoja, but the perpetrator was not at his residence. \u201cThe perpetrator\u2019s\nhouse and other locations have been visited. Still no results and we are\nexpanding the search to other places,\u201d said Kompol Andry. He confirmed\nthat police have identified the perpetrators and investigators are\ncurrently pursuing them. \u201cThey are still being chased,\u201d he said.
