Jakarta (ANTARA) - The House of Representatives\u2019 Ethics Council (MKD)\nhas declared that no ethical violations occurred in the nomination\nprocess or the fit-and-proper test of Adies Kadir to become a\nConstitutional Court (MK) justice.<\/p>\n
MKD Chairman Nazaruddin Dek Gam stated that the method and\nrequirements for selecting Adies Kadir as a Constitutional Court justice\ncandidate nominated by the DPR were in accordance with prevailing laws\nand regulations.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo ethical violations were found in the fit-and-proper test process\nor the selection of Adies Kadir as a Constitutional Court justice\ncandidate from the DPR, conducted by Commission III of the DPR and\nendorsed at the DPR plenary session,\u201d Dek Gam said whilst reading the\nMKD ruling at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
He stated that the fit-and-proper test conducted by Commission III on\nAdies had been preceded by a notification letter confirming that the\nprevious candidate, Inosentius Samsul, had been reassigned to other\nduties.<\/p>\n
According to him, Commission III also unanimously approved Adies\nKadir as the DPR\u2019s nominated Constitutional Court justice candidate.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn 27 January 2026, the DPR plenary session unanimously approved\nAdies Kadir as the Constitutional Court justice candidate nominated by\nthe DPR,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, MKD Deputy Chairman Adang Daradjatun explained that the\ncouncil had delivered the ruling as a case without a formal\ncomplaint.<\/p>\n
Despite the absence of a complaint, the MKD felt it necessary to\nissue the ruling so the public would understand the process, he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
He noted that some members of the public still did not fully\nunderstand how Adies Kadir came to be appointed as a Constitutional\nCourt justice when Inosentius Samsul had previously been selected. He\nemphasised that Inosentius had since received a different government\nassignment.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat is certain is that after the reassignment, the DPR naturally\ntook the necessary steps.
