        "content": "<p>Mitsui buys U.S. stake<\/p>\n<p>TOKYO (Nikkei): Mitsui &amp; Co. has bought a stake in a midsize<br>\nNew York fertilizer company Agrifos L.L.C. for an estimated three<br>\nbillion yen, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported Sunday that<br>\ncompany sources revealed.<\/p>\n<p>Agrifos makes phosphoric acid fertilizer and exports it to<br>\nAsia. It was established in 1996 after individual investors<br>\npurchased the rock phosphate mines and fertilizer plants held by<br>\nU.S. oil giant Mobil Corp.<\/p>\n<p>Production capacity totals about 700,000 metric tons, making<br>\nit around the sixth largest maker of phosphoric acid fertilizer<br>\nin the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>The trading house has also spent some 30 billion yen to build<br>\na joint venture plant with Tomen Corp. and local companies in<br>\nIndonesia to produce about 660,000 tons of liquid ammonia a year.<br>\nThe plant is currently under construction.<\/p>",
