Mitsubishi introduces new van in Indonesia<\/p>\n

Indonesians will soon have a chance to test a new multi-purpose
\ncar, the Maven, Mitsubishi Motors Corp. announced on Friday.<\/p>\n
Mitsubishi said it will begin selling the Maven in Indonesia
\nnext Thursday. The van will be assembled by Suzuki Motor's
\nfactory there on an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) basis
\nand sold by Mitsubishi's local distributor, P.T. Krama Yudha Tiga
\nBerlian Motors.<\/p>\n
The Maven is quipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine produced
\nby Mitsubishi's local engine production partner, P.T. Mitsubishi
\nKrama Yudha Motors and Manufacturing.<\/p>\n
The body of the van is an APV model, which is produced by
\nSuzuki's local subsidiary, with a slightly different exterior
\ndesign.<\/p>\n
While Suzuki sets its OEM production volume to a maximum of
\n12,000 vehicles per year, Mitsubishi plans to purchase about
\n20,000 units a year.<\/p>\n
Having suffered recent recalls, Mitsubishi is trying to expand
\nits production lineup on an OEM supply and is also focusing its
\ndevelopment resources on global strategic automobiles. Mitsubishi
\nstopped production of minivans, sedans and other models in
\nIndonesia in June.<\/p>",
