Missing engineer feared murdered<\/p>\n
SINGAPORE (AFP): Police were yesterday investigating whether
\nhuman body parts found in the sea here over the last week were
\nthose of a South African engineer who went missing after a
\nshopping trip in Singapore.<\/p>\n
Parts of a decomposed body have been recovered from the sea
\noff Singapore's Clifford Pier since March 13, police said, as
\nlocal newspapers linked the grisly find to Gerard George Lowe, a
\nchemical engineer with South African Breweries.<\/p>\n
Lowe, 32, was believed to have arrived in Singapore on March 8
\nfor a shopping holiday and was due to have returned home on March
\n11, it said.<\/p>\n
The Straits Times daily reported that a boatman found a pair
\nof legs, severed at the knee, inside a plastic bag sealed with
\nblue underwear, on March 13.<\/p>",
