Jakarta, VIVA \u2013 The Chairman of Commission XI of the Indonesian House\nof Representatives (DPR RI), Mukhamad Misbakhun, has denied allegations\nlinking him to the ordering of cigarette excise stamps.<\/p>\n
In a statement received in Jakarta on Sunday, Misbakhun addressed\nallegations that surfaced in the \u2018Bocor Alus\u2019 podcast and reports by\nTempo Magazine, which mentioned his name in relation to cigarette excise\nstamp affairs.<\/p>\n
\u201cI did not do what was presented in those broadcasts or news\nreports,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The Golkar Party legislator stated that the public could review his\ntrack record in fighting for the interests of tobacco farmers.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a member of the DPR RI representing the East Java II\nconstituency, specifically Probolinggo and Pasuruan regencies\u2014which are\ntobacco-producing areas\u2014I have always sided with and defended the\ninterests of tobacco farmers. I have consistently requested that the\nexcise tariff for hand-rolled clove cigarettes (SKT) remains low because\nit benefits tobacco farmers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Misbakhun also responded to the mention of Adi Harnowo as a\nparliamentary expert (TA) in the podcast. According to him, Adi has not\nworked for him for a long time.<\/p>\n
He noted that since the current term of DPR members was inaugurated\nin October 2024, Adi Harnowo\u2019s name has not appeared on his list of\nexperts. \u201cPlease confirm directly with the individual concerned,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Misbakhun stated that he possesses no authority\nregarding the ordering of cigarette excise stamps, as this falls under\nthe jurisdiction of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC)\nof the Ministry of Finance.<\/p>\n
He claimed to have contacted the Director of Communication and User\nGuidance at the DJBC, Nirwala Dwi Heryanto, to obtain clarification\nregarding the issue. According to Misbakhun, during their communication,\nNirwala stated that his name was not found in any issues related to the\nordering of cigarette excise stamps.<\/p>\n
\u201cMr Nirwala conveyed that my name is not involved in the cigarette\nexcise stamp ordering issue,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Misbakhun added that any investigation into the alleged misuse of\nexcise stamps is the responsibility of the DJBC.
