        "content": "<p>The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi) has\nstated that technology company Meta has closed approximately 185,000\nchildren\u2019s accounts within a two-month period as part of compliance\nefforts with Government Regulation on Child Protection (PP Tunas).<\/p>\n<p>Director General of Digital Space Supervision at Kemkomdigi,\nAlexander Sabar, said the figure represents the latest report received\nby the government from Meta, which oversees social media platforms\nFacebook, Instagram, and Threads.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c185,000 children\u2019s accounts were closed in two months,\u201d Alexander\ntold reporters on Tuesday, 30 June 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Alexander explained that Meta is now one of the major digital\nplatforms that has reported the closure of children\u2019s accounts as a form\nof compliance with Government Regulation No.\u00a017 of 2025 concerning\nGovernance of Electronic System Operations in Child Protection (PP\nTunas). Other platforms that have reported include TikTok and\nYouTube.<\/p>\n<p>Consequently, the total number of children\u2019s accounts closed by\ndigital platforms in compliance with PP Tunas has reached more than 4.8\nmillion accounts, with details of 4.1 million accounts on TikTok,\n600,000 accounts on YouTube, and 185,000 accounts on Meta-owned\nplatforms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe total means around 4.7 million accounts previously, plus\n185,000, so around 4.8 million accounts,\u201d said Alexander.<\/p>\n<p>Kemkomdigi has requested other digital platforms that have not yet\nsubmitted periodic reports regarding child protection measures and\nenforcement actions against children\u2019s accounts to fulfil their\nobligations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOther platforms have not yet submitted reports. We have asked them\nto provide routine reports, but they have not been delivered,\u201d Alexander\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, stated\nthat 200 digital platforms have reported self-assessments of their risk\nprofiles to the government as part of the implementation of PP\nTunas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe report that approximately 200 platforms have reported to\nKemkomdigi to provide assessments of their respective risk profiles,\u201d\nMeutya said.<\/p>\n<p>The digital platforms that have reported self-assessments include\ne-commerce, online gaming, and entertainment. The self-assessment\nreports from digital platforms are currently being evaluated by the\ngovernment to determine the risk profile of each platform.<\/p>",
