The Directorate General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of\nTransportation (Kemenhub) summoned the management of Xanh SM Taxi or\nGreen SM on Tuesday, 28 April 2026. The summons was to seek\nclarification following the KRL Cikarang-KA Argo Bromo Anggrek accident\nat Bekasi Timur Station the previous day.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have formed a special team to thoroughly examine the involvement\nof Xanh SM Taxi, including aspects of its licensing, administrative\ncompleteness, fulfilment of safety standards, and compliance with public\ntransport operational regulations,\u201d said Director General of Land\nTransportation Aan Suhanan in an official statement on Tuesday, 28 April\n2026.<\/p>\n
He explained that public safety is the top priority, so any potential\nviolations will be addressed in accordance with the provisions. Based on\ndata from the Siprajab application, the taxi vehicle involved in the\naccident, with licence plate B 2864 SBX, is registered and has a valid\nsupervision card until 28 October 2026.<\/p>\n
The vehicle is also registered to provide regular taxi services in\nthe Jabodetabek area. Nevertheless, the Directorate General of Land\nTransportation will continue with further investigations to ensure the\noperator\u2019s compliance with all applicable regulations.<\/p>\n
The Green SM taxi company also holds a Public Transport Company\nSafety Management System (SMK PAU) certificate valid for five years. Aan\nstated that they will re-audit the mandatory safety management standard\nelements for public transport companies. The audit will include\nreviewing the implementation of safety standards in the field, including\nthe company\u2019s obligations to ensure that vehicles, drivers, and\noperational systems meet safety aspects.<\/p>\n
The Directorate General of Land Transportation, he said, will conduct\nclarifications, in-depth investigations, and take action if violations\nare found against the provisions in Minister of Transportation\nRegulation Number PM 85 of 2018 on the Public Transport Company Safety\nManagement System and PM 117 of 2018 on Non-Route Passenger Transport\nServices.<\/p>\n
According to him, administrative sanctions can be imposed according\nto the level of violation, ranging from warning letters, temporary\npermit suspensions, to permit revocations.<\/p>\n
Aan also emphasised that if there are violations of public transport\noperational regulations, administrative sanctions will be imposed\nproportionately in accordance with the applicable rules. Further\nexaminations of Green SM Taxi\u2019s involvement in the accident are ongoing,\nand the results of the investigation will form the basis for determining\nsubsequent steps.<\/p>\n
The accident began when the KRL was stopped on track 1 at Bekasi\nTimur Station. The train stopped due to a disruption ahead from the\nopposite direction because there was a collision between the train and a\ntaxi.<\/p>\n
Shortly after, the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek was seen approaching from\nbehind and directly slamming into the train\u2019s body.
