Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Transportation (MoT) has recorded\n10,003,583 people undertaking the Eid al-Fitr exodus in 1447 Hijriah\nusing public transport from H-8 (13 March 2026) to H-1 (20 March 2026),\nbased on data from the 2026 Integrated Eid Transport Command Post.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe cumulative movement of public transport passengers from H-8 to\nH-1 reached 10,003,583 people, indicating a 9.23% increase compared to\nthe 2025 Eid transport figure of 9,158,315 people,\u201d said Head of the\nBureau of Communication and Public Information of the MoT, Ernita Titis\nDewi, in Jakarta on Saturday.<\/p>\n
She detailed the cumulative distribution by mode, including rail\ntransport with 2,981,945 people, up 13.22% from the previous year\u2019s\n2,633,878; air transport with 2,190,282 people, up 3.05% from 2,125,523;\nferry crossings with 2,482,303 people, up 14.78% from 2,162,708; land\ntransport with 1,587,060 people, up 9.18% from 1,453,679; and sea\ntransport with 761,993 people.<\/p>\n
In addition to passenger movements, vehicle flows were monitored at\nvarious transport nodes. On H-1, vehicles exiting the Jakarta Toll Gate\ntotalled 117,016 units, while those entering reached 66,210 units.<\/p>\n
The total movement of vehicles exiting and entering at the\nJabodetabek Toll Gates was 248,349 units, and at non-Jabodetabek toll\ngates, 236,758 units.<\/p>\n
On arterial roads, vehicles exiting Jabodetabek totalled 474,454\nunits, and those entering 360,479 units. Meanwhile, vehicle movements on\nnon-Jabodetabek arterial roads reached 491,901 units.<\/p>\n
She explained that the implementation of the 2026 Eid transport\nrefers to Ministerial Decree Number KM 59 of 2026 on the Coordinating\nTeam for the Implementation of Integrated Eid Transport in 2026 (1447\nH), with operational management continuously monitored in an integrated\nmanner.<\/p>\n
Based on daily data, the departure of public transport passengers on\nH-1 (20 March 2026) reached 915,635 people, spread across all transport\nmodes, with details including rail transport at 302,823 people,\ncomprising 178,006 intercity passengers and 124,817 regional urban\npassengers;<\/p>\n
Air transport at 207,261 people, consisting of 161,598 domestic\npassengers and 45,663 international passengers; sea transport at 54,693\npeople; ferry crossings at 189,804 people; land transport at 161,054\npeople, comprising 145,340 bus passengers and 15,714 travel\npassengers.<\/p>\n
The Ministry of Transportation also recorded the on-time performance\n(OTP) of public transport on H-1, including intercity rail at 98.20%;\nregional rail at 98.90%; domestic air at 85.79%; international air at\n70.24%; sea at 95.70%; ferry crossings at 63.19%; and land at\n72.49%.<\/p>\n
The Ministry of Transportation continues to ensure the Eid transport\noperations prioritise safety, security, and smoothness through\ncross-sector coordination and intensive monitoring at all transport\nnodes.<\/p>\n
Titis also advised the public to anticipate the return flow, expected\nto peak on 24 March 2026 (H+3).<\/p>\n
\u201cThe public should plan their return journeys early to avoid peak\ntimes, and consider alternative schedules to reduce congestion and\nensure safe and comfortable travel,\u201d said Titis.<\/p>\n
Titis also reminded the public to ensure they are in prime physical\ncondition, carry personal medications, and check vehicle readiness\nbefore travelling.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the public is urged to use official and licensed\ntransport modes and utilise the latest information from official\ngovernment channels.<\/p>\n
