        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Transportation is collaborating\nwith PT Pasifik Satelit Nusantara (PSN) to strengthen satellite-based\ndigital connectivity in underdeveloped, remote, frontier, and border\nareas (3TP) to enhance port services, operational efficiency, and\nsupport national data and information sovereignty.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Directorate General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of\nTransportation is strengthening digital services in 3TP areas through\nthe utilisation of satellite technology,\u201d said Director General of Sea\nTransportation Muhammad Masyhud in Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised this after witnessing the signing of a Cooperation\nAgreement between the Class III Korido Port Authority Office, operating\nin Supiori Regency, Papua, and PT PSN.<\/p>\n<p>The signing was conducted by the Head of the Class III Korido Port\nAuthority Office, Willem Thobias Fofid, and Director of PT PSN, Heru Dwi\nKartono, at the Ministry of Transportation office in Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that this collaboration is a historic opportunity as it\nbecomes the first partnership within the Directorate General of Sea\nTransportation (Ditjen Hubla) of the Ministry of Transportation that\nutilises advanced satellite technology for the digitalisation of Port\nAuthority Offices, particularly in 3TP areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Korido Port plays a strategic role in the Pacific region as a\nlogistics gateway and economic driver. However, geographical challenges\noften hinder access to information technology,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe tangible benefits of this system are the creation of maximum\noperational efficiency and real-time data transparency directly from the\nPacific border to the national data centre,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>With this satellite integration, Masyhud is optimistic that\nstrengthening the sovereignty of ship movement and port activity data\nwill become safer and more integrated, while also enhancing surveillance\naspects and maritime safety in eastern Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of the Class III Korido Port Authority Office, Willem\nThobias Fofid, stated that this synergy is a response to the challenges\nof limited infrastructure in border areas.<\/p>\n<p>He affirmed that this collaboration is also a concrete step towards\nrealising synergy in port and maritime transport digitalisation\nservices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe utilisation of satellite technology is expected to provide\nreliable digital connectivity, especially in areas that have previously\nbeen difficult to reach by terrestrial networks,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, strengthening digital and data sovereignty as well\nas information is an important aspect.
