        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 The Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Indonesia has\nconfirmed that international flight operations remain operational amid\nthe fluid situation in the Middle East region.<\/p>\n<p>In response to reports circulating amongst the public regarding the\nsuspension of all international flights due to impacts from the Middle\nEast situation, the Ministry of Transport through the Directorate\nGeneral of Air Transport stated that such reports are inaccurate, said\nLukman F. Laisa, Director General of Air Transport at the Ministry of\nTransport, in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that the ministry continues to intensively monitor\ndevelopments in international flight operations affected by the Middle\nEast situation and ensures passenger handling proceeds smoothly, safely,\nand in a coordinated manner.<\/p>\n<p>Lukman noted that as of 17 March 2026 at 10:30 WIB, two aircraft\nremain stranded in Indonesia \u2014 one at Soekarno-Hatta International\nAirport and one at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport \u2014 both\noperated by Qatar Airways.<\/p>\n<p>With the airspace of the United Arab Emirates beginning to reopen,\nLukman said, several airlines have resumed limited flight operations.\nEmirates has commenced limited flights to and from Jakarta and Denpasar.\nHowever, operations were temporarily disrupted by a fuel farm facility\nissue at Dubai Airport on 16 March 2026, causing flight delays and\nschedule adjustments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHandling of affected passengers continues, including the gradual\ntransportation of stranded passengers,\u201d explained Lukman.<\/p>\n<p>He further stated that Etihad Airways has also resumed limited flight\noperations and plans to increase flight frequencies as a contingency\nmeasure, particularly for routes from Jakarta and Denpasar to Abu\nDhabi.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Qatar Airways has conducted repatriation flights since 8\nMarch 2026 and is gradually reopening limited flight services from\nJakarta. Handling of affected passengers, including Umrah pilgrims, has\nbeen carried out through refund mechanisms, schedule changes, and\nalternative carrier arrangements. As of 16 March 2026, there are no\nremaining stranded passengers at Jeddah being handled by Qatar\nAirways.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, several airlines serving direct flights to Saudi\nArabia including Saudi Arabian Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air, and\nFlyadeal continue to operate normally and remain unaffected by the\nconflict.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, indirect flights through third countries operated by\nvarious international carriers have resumed normal operations and are\nready to accommodate passenger travel needs.<\/p>\n<p>The Directorate General of Air Transport will continue coordinating\nwith all stakeholders, including civil aviation authorities, airport\noperators, and airlines, to ensure smooth flight operations and provide\noptimal protection and service to all passengers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe public is urged to continually monitor official information from\nairlines and relevant authorities and adjust travel plans in accordance\nwith current developments,\u201d said Lukman.<\/p>",
