        "content": "<p>Pati, VIVA \u2013 The Ministry of Religious Affairs has revoked the\noperational licence of the Ndolo Kusumo Islamic Boarding School in\nTlogosari Village, Tlogowungu Subdistrict, Pati Regency, Central Java,\nfollowing allegations of molestation by the institution\u2019s caretaker\nagainst female students.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe offer no tolerance whatsoever to perpetrators of sexual\nviolence,\u201d stated Ahmad Syaiku, Head of the Ministry of Religious\nAffairs Office in Pati, during a press conference on the arrest of the\nsuspect AS at Pati Police Resort headquarters on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>He praised the swift action by law enforcement in handling the case,\nleading to the suspect\u2019s designation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe greatly appreciate the prompt response in conducting the\ninvestigation, and Alhamdulillah, the suspect has been designated. This\nis proof that the state is present to protect our children,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>Ahmad expressed concern over the incident, as it damages the image of\npesantren as institutions for character building and Islamic\neducation.<\/p>\n<p>As a follow-up, the Ministry of Religious Affairs conducted factual\nverification and compliance evaluation of the Islamic boarding school on\n4 May 2026. The evaluation results formed the basis for recommending the\nrevocation of the operational licence.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the operational licence for Ndolo Kusumo Islamic\nBoarding School was officially revoked as of 5 May 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has ensured the\ncontinuity of education for the students.<\/p>\n<p>There are 252 students recorded at the pesantren, spanning levels\nfrom Raudlatul Athfal (RA), Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI), junior secondary,\nto Madrasah Aliyah (MA).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn 2 and 3 May 2026, all students were sent back to their respective\nparents, and learning is being conducted online,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Religious Affairs will also assess all students next\nweek to determine the process of transferring them to other Islamic\nboarding schools or madrasahs.<\/p>\n<p>He also called on all parties to monitor the legal process of the\ncase until it is resolved in court.<\/p>\n<p>The caretaker of Ndolo Kusumo Islamic Boarding School, AS (51), was\nsuccessfully arrested at the Grand Mosque of Purwantoro, Wonogiri\nRegency, Central Java, on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect fled after failing to appear for examination summons on\nMonday (4\/5), prompting Pati Police Resort to plan a second summons\nletter on 7 May 2026.<\/p>",
