Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar travelled by private jet\nto the inauguration of the Balai Sarkiah building in Takalar Regency,\nSouth Sulawesi. The Ministry of Religious Affairs stated that the\nprivate jet was provided by former Regional Representative Council (DPD)\nChairman Oesman Sapta Odang (OSO), who organised the event.<\/p>\n
\u201cMr OSO specifically invited and expressed his hope that the Balai\nSarkiah would be inaugurated by the Religious Affairs Minister. Mr OSO\ntook the initiative to arrange a private jet for the Minister so that he\ncould attend amidst his packed schedule,\u201d said the Head of the\nMinistry\u2019s Public Relations and Communications Bureau, Thobib Al Asyhar,\nas quoted from the Ministry\u2019s official website on Thursday (19 February\n2026).<\/p>\n
\u201cAll modes of transport for the journey were arranged by the\norganiser,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Thobib said the inauguration took place on Sunday (15 February). The\nBalai Sarkiah building, located in Sabintang sub-district, serves as a\ncentre for religious and social activities in South Sulawesi.<\/p>\n
Thobib stated that Nasaruddin expressed his appreciation for the OSO\nfamily\u2019s contributions to community empowerment. He said the Minister\nhoped the inaugurated building would prove beneficial for religious\neducation and the economic welfare of the community.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Minister conveyed that the government greatly values the role of\ncommunity leaders who independently build religious infrastructure. The\nBalai Sarkiah is not merely a building, but a symbol of collaboration to\nstrengthen the values of social care within the community,\u201d Thobib\nsaid.<\/p>\n
The inauguration of the Balai Sarkiah building was attended by OSO\nand his family, Takalar Regent Mohammad Firdaus Daeng Manye, and South\nSulawesi government officials. The event was also attended by local\nreligious and community figures.<\/p>\n
The ceremony began with the signing of an inaugural plaque by the\nFoundation\u2019s Board of Trustees Chairwoman, Serviati Oesman, accompanied\nby Nasaruddin.
