        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has ensured the readiness\nof national road sections in West Sumatra Province (Sumbar) to handle\nthe flow of holiday travellers returning home and the return journey\nduring Eid 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo said the government is committed\nto maintaining connectivity of national roads in West Sumatra, including\nat several points previously affected by disasters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Padang\u2013Bukittinggi route is one of the main routes for public\nmovement in West Sumatra. We ensure that handling at vulnerable points,\nsuch as Lembah Anai and Sitinjau Lauik, continues to be accelerated so\nthat the public can travel home safely and comfortably,\u201d Dody said in a\nstatement in Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>One of the main corridors for public mobility, the Padang\u2013Bukittinggi\nroute, is ensured to be ready to serve holiday travellers, including\nthrough the operation of the Lembah Anai route for 24 hours during the\nholiday travel period.<\/p>\n<p>Routine maintenance, patching, and road surface quality improvement\nefforts continue to be carried out to maintain the comfort and safety of\nroad users.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically on the Padang\u2013Bukittinggi section, handling is focused\non several strategic points previously affected by disasters, including\nthe Lembah Anai area. During the period from 10 days before Eid to 10\ndays after Eid, this section will be operated for 24 hours to support\nthe smooth flow of holiday travellers returning home and the return\njourney.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the progress of handling in the Lembah Anai area has\nreached approximately 44 per cent, with bore pile foundation work at\napproximately 78 per cent. During the Eid holiday travel period, the\nroute will remain operational to serve the movement of public\ntraffic.<\/p>",
