The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has completed 222 Nutrition Service\nUnit (SPPG) buildings spread across 30 provinces throughout Indonesia,\nincluding the most underdeveloped, frontier, and remote (3T) regions. In\nthese 3T areas, two SPPGs were constructed within the Wini and Motamasin\nIntegrated Border Posts (PLBN) in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The SPPG at\nPLBN Wini was built on a site of 1,408.63 m\u00b2 in North Timor Tengah Utara\nRegency, while the SPlo SPPG at PLBN Motamasin occupies 1,469.12 m\u00b2 in\nMalaka Regency.<\/p>\n
Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggarda, explained that the\nlocations for these Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) kitchens were determined\nthrough coordination with the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) and the\nMinistry of Home Affairs. The Ministry of Public Works was tasked with\nsurveying land readiness and accelerating the construction process to\nmeet established targets. \u201cWe have completed approximately 222 SPPGs,\nsome of which are in 3T regions. The specific locations were coordinated\ndirectly with the BGN and the Ministry of Home Affairs. Our role was to\nsurvey whether the land was ready for immediate construction, as we are\nworking towards strict targets,\u201d Dody stated during an infrastructure\nupdate briefing in Jakarta on Friday.<\/p>\n
He noted that the process of handing over the assets to the BGN is\ncurrently underway. Before the official handover, the BGN is expected to\ninspect each SPPG facility to ensure all buildings are ready for use.\n\u201cThe handover process with the BGN is ongoing. The BGN will likely check\nthem one by one, but the construction is entirely complete,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n
The Minister also mentioned plans to coordinate with the new\nleadership of the BGN in the near future to ensure the optimal\nutilisation and operation of all SPPGs. The units built by the Ministry\nof Public Works feature main kitchens, washing areas for tools and\ningredients, dry and wet warehouses, equipment storage, parking areas,\nclean water networks, and Wastewater Treatment Plants (IPAL) to ensure\nhygiene standards and environmental sustainability. Additionally,\nsupporting infrastructure such as panel rooms and waste disposal sites\n(TPS) are provided.
