Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and
Bureaucratic Reform is partnering with experts, the public, and related
agencies to establish National Public Service Day. This commemorative
day is expected to strengthen collective commitment and foster public
awareness. “Today’s discussion can provide sharp, objective, and
constructive input, both from historical, philosophical, and strategic
perspectives,” said Deputy Minister Purwadi Arianto in his statement in
Jakarta on Thursday. This was conveyed by Purwadi when opening a
discussion forum on the Establishment of National Public Service Day at
the Ministry of PANRB office in Jakarta. National Public Service Day
provides a shared space for reflection among the state, society, and
media on how far public services are truly present, felt, and
continuously improved. The ideas formulated together not only have
administrative accuracy but also embody national meaning and relevance
for strengthening public service delivery in the future. Purwadi then
emphasised that the establishment of National Public Service Day must
not stop at ceremonial aspects. “This Public Service Day must have
strategic meaning, namely becoming a national reminder that public
service is the core of government work, as well as a momentum for joint
evaluation on whether our services are becoming simpler, faster, and
more inclusive,” he explained. He added that the establishment of
National Public Service Day needs to meet several important
considerations. The date must be embedded in public memory, not overlap
with other national commemorations, and can serve as a momentum to drive
progress in good governance. Deputy for Public Services at the Ministry
of PANRB, Otok Kuswandaru, on the same occasion added that the
establishment of National Public Service Day is directed as a National
Public Service Movement, carried out simultaneously by all government
agencies. “This momentum is expected not to be realised through large
ceremonial activities, but through real actions to improve service
quality by utilising existing services in each agency so that the impact
can be directly felt by the public,” said Otok.
",
