        "content": "<p>The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) has sealed Umang\nIsland in Pandeglang Regency, Banten, after the island went viral for\nbeing listed for sale at Rp 65 billion. It was also revealed that the\noperator has not obtained the required permits from KKP.<\/p>\n<p>Citing detikFinance, Director General of Marine Spatial Management\nPung Nugroho Saksono stated that they have investigated the viral sale\nof Umang Island for Rp 65 billion. Based on the examination, the man\nfamiliarly known as Ipunk said that Umang Island is managed by an\nindividual.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe found on social media that there was a sale of Umang Island. How\ncan an island be sold? So the state is present there. Yesterday\nafternoon we sealed it again, and the examination results showed that\nthe island is owned by an individual,\u201d Ipunk said during a press\nconference at his office in Central Jakarta on Wednesday\n(15\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>From the investigation, it was stated that the operator never posted\nor collaborated with other parties to sell the island.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will conduct further in-depth investigation into the regulations\nand ownership. It must not be advertised outside. Then parties who\nexploit it. The state has rules here where the management of small\nislands must not be arbitrary,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Director of Marine Resources Supervision at KKP, Sumono Darwinto,\nasked the operator to be cooperative and complete the required\ndocuments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis process will continue to be closely monitored to ensure that\nevery activity utilising marine space around Umang Island runs in\naccordance with legal corridors,\u201d Sumono said.<\/p>",
