The\nMinistry of Manpower (Kemnaker) views such initiatives as a form of\ncorporate investment to maintain worker morale and productivity upon\ntheir return from their home towns.<\/p>\n
The Director General of Industrial Relations Development and Social\nSecurity for Workers at Kemnaker, Indah Anggoro Putri, expressed\nappreciation for companies that consistently facilitate mudik activities\nfor workers and their families.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe commend companies such as PT Kayaba Indonesia that consistently\nfacilitate mudik for workers and their families. This is a best practice\nof harmonious industrial relations that should be emulated by other\ncompanies,\u201d said Putri whilst seeing off participants in PT Kayaba\nIndonesia\u2019s collective mudik programme in Cikarang, Bekasi.<\/p>\n
Putri explained that workers are essential to business continuity.\nCorporate support enabling workers to travel home safely and comfortably\nis deemed to have a positive impact not only on workers and their\nfamilies, but also on the company itself.<\/p>\n
Workers who are able to celebrate Eid with their families, she\nstated, tend to return to work with renewed enthusiasm, thereby boosting\nproductivity.<\/p>\n
Corporate Support Through Cooperation and Banking Collaboration<\/p>\n
The collective mudik programme should not be viewed as a corporate\nburden, according to the ministry. Rather, the activity can be seen as\nan investment in human resources.<\/p>\n
Kemnaker encourages companies to implement various creative schemes\nto support worker welfare, including through collaboration with worker\ncooperatives and banking partners.<\/p>\n
Such collaboration, Putri continued, can help distribute programme\nfinancing more proportionally so that the burden does not fall on a\nsingle party.<\/p>\n
PT Kayaba Indonesia\u2019s mudik programme this year was implemented\nthrough synergy between company management, the K5 worker cooperative,\nand banking partner Bank Danamon.<\/p>\n
Beyond welfare considerations, Kemnaker also prioritises travel\nsafety. Through the Directorate General for Labour Supervision,\nOccupational Safety and Health, health examinations were conducted on\nprimary drivers, backup drivers, and conductors.<\/p>\n
Inspections also included spot checks on bus fleet conditions to\nensure that vehicles meet roadworthiness standards.<\/p>\n
PT Kayaba Indonesia this year dispatched 236 workers using four bus\nfleets heading to several cities in Central Java and Special Region of\nYogyakarta.<\/p>\n
PT Kayaba Indonesia Director Baron Tanaka expressed appreciation for\nKemnaker\u2019s support in ensuring worker travel safety.<\/p>\n
