Ministry of Law Secretary General Nico Afinta, in a statement in\nJakarta, said the use of digital technology is not only directed at\npublic services but also at human resource management within the\nministry. \u201cThe Minister of Law has launched a digital transformation\nprogramme, where the goal is to serve the public quickly, precisely, and\naccountably. This service is provided not only to the public, but also\nto our internal staff,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
According to him, electronic voting is used to provide space for\nemployees in the destination work unit to assess the qualified\ncandidates for leadership. \u201cThe Minister said it would be good if the\npeople who will lead are also asked for their opinion by the destination\noffice. Let\u2019s see if this e-voting can work,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Minister of Law Supratman emphasised that the electronic\nvoting does not replace the bureaucratic mechanism and applicable\nprovisions for filling positions. According to Supratman, the structure,\nfunction, duties, and authority in the appointment process remain in\neffect even though employees are given space to participate through\nvoting.<\/p>\n
He said he has signed a Minister of Law decree regarding the\nformation of a Talent Committee at the central and regional office\nlevels to support appointments based on qualifications and track\nrecords.
