        "content": "<p>JAKARTA - A fire at the Directorate General of Village Government\nDevelopment office of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) in Pasar\nMinggu, South Jakarta, is suspected to have originated from a warehouse\nof used goods on Monday (20\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>The Head of the Ministry of Home Affairs Information Centre, Beni\nIrawan, stated that the pile of used items was located next to the\nclinic in Building D. The fire then spread upwards to the fourth floor\nat the back of the building, causing the windows to shatter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fire initially appeared at the site of the pile of used goods,\ngradually growing larger and resulting in a blaze,\u201d Beni explained to\nKompas.com on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>However, the exact cause of the incident is not yet known.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a resident, Muhammad Sahri (45), said that before the fire\ngrew, he smelled burning tyres. He then shouted to the employees inside\nthe building to extinguish the flames.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI shouted as loudly as I could, and someone looked out from the\nwindow. I said, \u2018Who\u2019s burning the tyres? Put it out!\u2019 Then he replied,\n\u2018No one, sir, this is a fire!\u2019 I panicked immediately,\u201d Sahri\nrecounted.<\/p>\n<p>The fire caused five Ministry of Home Affairs employees to suffer\ninjuries and shortness of breath, as well as a firefighter sustaining\nminor injuries.<\/p>",
