        "content": "<p>The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemdagri) held the 2026 Regional\nSulawesi Local Government Excellence Awards at Claro Hotel in Kendari,\nSoutheast Sulawesi, on Friday, 29 May 2026. The event was organised in\ncollaboration with Kompas.com.<\/p>\n<p>Kemdagri awarded local governments for their achievements in four\ncategories: unemployment reduction, creative financing, inflation\ncontrol, and poverty reduction and stunting mitigation.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian stated the awards\nrecognise central government appreciation for local governments that\nhave demonstrated excellence in governance and public service. He\nexplained that regional-based awards ensure a fair and proportionate\nassessment process, given differing characteristics and challenges\nacross Indonesia. He expressed hope the event would foster\ninter-regional competition to improve service quality for citizens.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018This event is one of our efforts to recognise and motivate regional\nleaders. It also demonstrates that many local leaders excel,\u2019 he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>In the unemployment reduction category at regency level, Kolaka\nRegency received First Prize. Konawe Islands Regency and North Kolaka\nRegency secured Second and Third prizes respectively. At city level,\nBaubau City took First Prize, Kendari City Second, and Parepare Third.\nWest Sulawesi Province received the provincial-level award.<\/p>\n<p>For creative financing at regency level, Wajo Regency won First\nPrize, Kolaka Regency Second, and Mamasa Regency Third. At city level,\nMakassar City claimed First Prize, followed by Palu City as Second and\nManado City as Third.<\/p>",
