        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Health is strengthening its\npromotional and preventive efforts in adolescent mental health through\nthe event \u201cBook Dissection: First Aid for Psychological Wounds for First\nAiders in Junior and Senior High Schools.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The book \u201cFirst Aid for Psychological Wounds for First Aiders in\nSchools\u201d is expected to serve as a practical guide for students to\nbecome more sensitive to their peers\u2019 conditions and to provide initial\nsupport before seeking professional help.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Minister of Health Dante Saksono Harbuwono, speaking in\nJakarta on Tuesday, stated that the event aims to improve literacy and\nbasic skills among students in recognising and responding to mental\nhealth issues in the school environment.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that psychological wounds are often invisible but can\nhave a significant impact on adolescents\u2019 lives if not handled\nproperly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf our friend falls while playing, we immediately help because the\nwound is visible. But what if the one that\u2019s wounded is the feeling?\nOften we stay silent, not because we don\u2019t care, but because we don\u2019t\nknow what to do,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the Indonesia-National Adolescent Mental Health Survey\n(I-NAMHS) 2022, he said, around 1 in 3 Indonesian adolescents\nexperienced mental health problems in the past year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat means there might be a friend around us who looks fine but is\nstruggling in silence. This is where the importance of first aid skills\nfor psychological wounds comes in,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, these skills do not require special expertise, but\nrather concern and courage to be present for others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWilling to listen without judging, understand before judging, and\ndare to say: you are not alone,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He conveyed a simple yet meaningful message to the younger\ngeneration: \u201cBe the reason someone feels not alone today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the same occasion, the Head of the Bureau of Communication and\nPublic Information of the Ministry of Health, Aji Muhawarman, stated\nthat this event is part of ongoing efforts to increase mental health\nliteracy among students.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough this book dissection, we want to introduce mental health\nreferences for children and adolescents, while providing practical\nunderstanding of first aid for psychological wounds,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the event also serves as an opportunity for\ncross-sector collaboration in supporting mental health in the\neducational environment.<\/p>",
