        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah states that the\nshipment of Nusantara rice amounting to 2,280 tonnes to Saudi Arabia is\npart of strengthening the Hajj logistics ecosystem based on a national\nfood supply.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018This marks a breakthrough after years of waiting for Indonesian rice\nto be used for the consumption of Hajj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia,\u2019 said\nJaenal Effendi, Director General for the Development of the Hajj and\nUmrah Economic Ecosystem (PE2HU) at Kemenhaj, in Jakarta on\nWednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The rice export is carried out by Perum Bulog as the technical\nimplementer. The export volume is adjusted to the number of Indonesian\nHajj pilgrims this year, around 205,420 people, including regular\npilgrims and officers.<\/p>\n<p>Bulog\u2019s President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani reported that the\nexported rice is fresh harvest rice from West Java and Central Java,\nprocessed directly without going through old warehouse stocks.<\/p>\n<p>Processing is conducted at four facilities, namely Wilmar\u2019s factories\nin Serang and Mojokerto, and Bulog\u2019s factories in Karawang and\nSubang.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The rice shipped has super premium quality, with a breakage rate\nbelow 5 percent and moisture content below 14 percent. This is the\nhighest quality Bulog has ever produced,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Agriculture and simultaneously Head of Bapanas Andi Amran\nSulaiman expressed appreciation to Perum Bulog and farmers across\nIndonesia, as well as all stakeholders who have worked hard to achieve\nthis.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Thanks to the hard work of all parties, Indonesia not only achieves\nself-sufficiency in rice by 2025, but today is also ready to export\nCBP-grade premium rice to meet the needs of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims,\u2019\nAmran said.<\/p>\n<p>The Indonesian government emphasises that the success of achieving\nfood self-sufficiency now enters a new phase and upgrades.
