        "content": "<p>Banjarmasin (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Forestry is calling on\ncommunities to protect the environment as part of efforts to prevent\nforest and land fires (karhutla), in line with strengthened preparedness\nby regional governments facing potential disasters during the 2026 dry\nseason.<\/p>\n<p>Fahrizal Fitri, the Minister of Forestry\u2019s Expert Staff for\nInter-Institutional Relations, who also chairs the Regional Assistance\nTeam of the 2026 Forest Fire Control Supervision Task Force, said in a\nstatement in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, on Tuesday that preventing\nforest and land fires requires the support of all elements of\nsociety.<\/p>\n<p>He said that protecting forests and land is a shared responsibility\nas part of efforts to ensure sustainable environmental preservation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet us look after nature. May our earth remain a safe, green earth\nwith blue skies,\u201d said Fahrizal.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to inviting the public to participate in protecting the\nenvironment, Fahrizal expressed hope that the synergy built between\ndistrict and municipal governments and all stakeholders would continue\nto be maintained with the full support of the provincial government.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the results of the supervision in South Kalimantan, Fahrizal\nassessed that the preparedness undertaken by the South Kalimantan\nProvincial Government together with all stakeholders in facing the\npotential for forest and land fires during the dry season had been\nrunning quite optimally, providing important capital for strengthening\nprevention and field response efforts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThankfully, we see that preparedness is quite optimal and\ncooperation among stakeholders is also quite good,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the working visit to South Kalimantan was part of\nthe supervision of regional governments\u2019 readiness along with the\nMinistry of Forestry\u2019s technical implementation units in the province,\nto ensure that all elements were prepared to face the potential\noccurrence of forest and land fires through coordination and optimal\nresource readiness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are carrying out supervision of regional governments\u2019 readiness,\nincluding the technical implementation units (UPT) of the Ministry of\nForestry, in anticipation of forest and land fire disasters during this\nyear\u2019s dry season,\u201d said Fahrizal.<\/p>",
