Manokwari (ANTARA) \u2013 The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education\n(Kemendikdasmen) has allocated Rp114 billion for the revitalisation of\n89 educational institutions in West Papua Province in 2025.<\/p>\n
Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Abdul Mu\u2019ti, in Manokwari\non Thursday, said the revitalisation programme is part of the\ngovernment\u2019s efforts to create safe and comfortable learning\nenvironments to support human resource quality improvement.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn 2025, we have completed 100% of the revitalisation of 89 schools\nacross West Papua,\u201d said Abdul.<\/p>\n
For Manokwari Regency, he said, 31 schools benefit from the 2025\nrevitalisation programme with a budget of approximately Rp39.9 billion,\nwhile the rest are spread across six other regencies in West Papua.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hope all West Papua proposals are addressed. As we know, the\npresident has raised the target for 2026 to 71,744 schools,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
According to him, the infrastructure improvement programme aims to\ncreate educational environments from early childhood (PAUD),\nkindergarten (TK), junior high (SMP) to senior high (SMA) that are not\njust places for teaching and learning, but a shared home for all\nstudents.<\/p>\n
The implementation of the revitalisation programme reflects the\nministry\u2019s long-term commitment and strategy to achieve high-quality\neducation development through universal participation.<\/p>\n
Additionally, he said, Kemendikdasmen applies a new student admission\nsystem with four channels: domicile, achievement, affirmative action,\nand transfer, aiming to balance student numbers across educational\ninstitutions.<\/p>\n
All public educational institutions are expected not to violate\noperational standards by adding classrooms once applicant numbers meet\nthe quota, as Kemendikdasmen will impose sanctions.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf applicant numbers are full, forced admissions are not allowed.\nThey will not be recorded in the main education data (dapodik). We will\nlock the dapodik system,\u201d Abdul stressed.<\/p>\n
The revitalisation programme not only positively impacts the\nimprovement of facilities and infrastructure but also motivates students\nand teachers to carry out teaching and learning activities.<\/p>\n
\u201cSchools\u2019 appearance is improving thanks to the central government\u2019s\nrevitalisation programme,\u201d said Hermus.<\/p>\n
Hermus acknowledged that the implementation of efficiency policies\namounting to approximately Rp200 billion has made it difficult for local\ngovernments to implement social service programmes, including education\nspending.<\/p>\n
Local governments need central government budget allocation support\nto realise quality, high-standard, and inclusive education development\nprogrammes as expected by the people across Manokwari region.<\/p>\n
