        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education\n(Kemendikdasmen) reports that technical guidelines (juknis) for\nimplementing the Student Admission System (SPMB) for the 2026\/2027\nacademic year, prepared by local governments (pemda), have reached 74%\ncompletion.<\/p>\n<p>Director General of Early Childhood Education, Basic Education, and\nNon-Formal and Informal Education at Kemendikdasmen, Gogot Suharwoto,\nemphasised that the legal basis for SPMB still refers to Ministerial\nRegulation Number 3 of 2025 on the Student Admission System.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, considering changes in capacity calculations for\neducational units, we have also issued Director General\u2019s Circular\nNumber 0301\/C\/HK.04.01\/2026,\u201d he stated in Jakarta on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs of 3 May, 74% of districts\/cities and provinces have completed\nit. However, 26% of regional SPMB guidelines are still in the\nfinalisation stage, consisting of 64% in the legal bureau process and\n36% awaiting signing by regional heads,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, he continued, the authority for capacity calculations\nhas been delegated to the Major Education Quality Assurance Centre\n(BBPMP) in each province.<\/p>\n<p>This step is taken to enable direct resolution of issues at the\nprovincial level without relying on the central government.<\/p>\n<p>His side is also encouraging the involvement of private schools to\nensure that students from low-income families can still study at private\nschools without fees.<\/p>\n<p>From those figures, he said, 53 regions are intervening through\noperational assistance funds for schools (BOS), while 25 other regions\nthrough Student Personal Assistance.<\/p>\n<p>With the involvement of 811 private schools at the senior high school\n(SMA), vocational high school (SMK), and vocational secondary school\n(SKh) levels, Gogot noted that Banten Province has the largest private\neducation intervention.<\/p>\n<p>To facilitate 9.4 million children transitioning to the next\neducation level, he requested regional heads to instruct coordination\namong at least four agencies: the Education Agency (Disdik) for\nsocialising admission pathways and school capacities, the Civil Registry\nand Population Agency (Dukcapil) for verifying and validating domicile\npathway data, the Communication and Informatics Agency (Diskominfo) for\npreparing online registration, and the Social Agency (Dinsos) for\nverifying and validating affirmative pathway data.<\/p>",
