        "content": "<p>Ministry accused of controlling KPI<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: Legislators Effendi Choirie and Djoko Susilo accused<br>\non Thursday the communications minister of trying to control the<br>\nIndonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI).<\/p>\n<p>Under the broadcasting law, the KPI has the authority to draft<br>\nbroadcasting regulations with the minister.<\/p>\n<p>Choirie said the minister had overruled the KPI's plan to<br>\ninvite him and Djoko, who are deputy chairmen of the House of<br>\nRepresentatives Commission I for security and information<br>\naffairs, to a meeting to discuss broadcasting regulations now<br>\nbeing drafted by the KPI.<\/p>\n<p>Choirie accused the minister of having a hidden agenda in the<br>\ndeliberation of the regulations. -- JP<\/p>",
