        "content": "<p>Ministers to visit Manokwari<\/p>\n<p>JAYAPURA, Papua: Nine ministers were scheduled to visit<br>\nManokwari on Nov. 23, 2002 to see the injured victims of an<br>\nearthquake that killed eight people in the districts of Ransiki<br>\nand Oransbari in the regency in October.<\/p>\n<p>The nine were Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare Yusuf<br>\nKalla, Minister for Resettlement and Regional Infrastructure<br>\nSoenarno, Minister of Religious Affairs Said Agil Munawar,<br>\nMinister of Social Affairs Bachtiar Chamsyah, Minister of<br>\nNational Education Abdul Malik Fajar, Minister of Health Achmad<br>\nSuyudi, Minister of Manpower and Transmigration Jacob Nuwa Wea<br>\nand State Minister for the Acceleration of Development of Eastern<br>\nIndonesia Manuel Kaisiepo.<\/p>\n<p>Spokesman for Manokawari administration Ferdinant Teniwut said<br>\nin Jayapura recently that the ministers were scheduled to visit<br>\nthe villages jolted by the strong earthquake and hand over<br>\nfinancial aid to help rehabilitate damaged homes.<\/p>\n<p>\"The strong earthquake killed eight people, injured 639 others<br>\nand damaged a total of 536 houses in 17 regencies,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>Ferdinant said he was disappointed with the government's lack<br>\nof attention to the disaster, saying: \"All the deceased have been<br>\nburied already and the wounded victims have already recovered<br>\nwhile other people have moved to safe areas.\" --JP<\/p>",
