Indonesia is delaying planned increases in mining royalties\nand export taxes after Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa walked back\nhis earlier statement that the new rules would take effect in June 2026,\nwith the government now saying it is still seeking a more balanced\npolicy formula.<\/p>\n<p>Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said the\nproposed changes affecting commodities such as copper, tin, nickel,\ngold, and silver have been temporarily postponed while officials review\ntheir impact on state revenue and investment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe discussed several regulatory adjustments, including export taxes\non several commodities that had previously been socialized,\u201d Bahlil told\nreporters at the Attorney General\u2019s Office complex in Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>According to Bahlil, the government wants to ensure that any future\npolicy can increase state revenue without burdening businesses or\nweakening investment in the mining sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe agreed to temporarily postpone it while we look for a good\nformula while still prioritizing the interests of the state and\nbusinesses.
