        "content": "<p>Minister warns estate developers<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Minister of Public Housing Akbar Tanjung has<br>\nwarned real estate developers who have been delaying the<br>\nconstruction of their projects to start building immediately.<\/p>\n<p>\"The government hopes those developers will start building<br>\nhouses for people because we have issued the location permits for<br>\nthem to build on 30,000 hectares of land in the greater Jakarta<br>\narea,\" Tanjung said yesterday, in the inauguration ceremony of<br>\nCitra Grand City housing complex.<\/p>\n<p>Tanjung said if all developers build houses on the land it<br>\ncould meet the increasing demand for houses in the greater<br>\nJakarta area.<\/p>\n<p>\"The government will not hesitate to review the land permit of<br>\ndevelopers who delay their projects,\" Tanjung said.<\/p>\n<p>The minister refused to reveal the number of developers which<br>\nreportedly have been delaying their projects.<\/p>\n<p>Tanjung said the government might be more selective in issuing<br>\nsuch permits in the future.<\/p>\n<p>\"The government will also closely control the implementation<br>\nof housing regulations,\" he said, adding that the Indonesian Real<br>\nEstate Association should remind its members to obey the<br>\nregulations.<\/p>\n<p>Tanjung urged real estate developers to obey the regulations<br>\nin providing land for public facilities and to fulfill their<br>\npromises to their buyers.<\/p>\n<p>\"Developers often break their promises, and eventually buyers<br>\nare disappointed because they do not get the facilities<br>\npromised,\" Tanjung said.<\/p>\n<p>He explained the main reason why the government issued the<br>\nregulations which require developers to build various types of<br>\nhouses is to provide houses for all people.<\/p>\n<p>\"The 1:3:6 composition is made because people's buying power<br>\nis so varied,\" Tanjung said referring to the concept in which<br>\ndevelopers should build six low-cost houses and three modest<br>\nhouses for every luxurious house they plan to build.<\/p>\n<p>Citra Grand City, the sixth project of PT Citraland Estate,<br>\nowned by real estate tycoon Ciputra, is a pilot project which<br>\nwill introduce a \"city of the arts\" concept.<\/p>\n<p>When completed there will be various artistic items such as<br>\nstatues and paintings installed in the housing complex. The<br>\nstreets in the complex will be named after internationally<br>\nacclaimed artists including painters, sculptors, singers and<br>\nmovie stars. An art gallery will be also built in the<br>\ncomplex.(yns)<\/p>",
