Dudy explained that the evaluation process will begin as soon as the\nNational Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) completes its\ninvestigation into the exact cause of the fire. Beyond focusing on the investigation into the cause of the accident,\nthe Ministry of Transportation is currently prioritising the matching of\nmanifest data with the number of victims successfully evacuated. This\nprocess is crucial because several rescue vessels are still en route to\nTanjung Perak Port in Surabaya.<\/p>\n
The Transport Minister revealed discrepancies between the initial\nmanifest data and the actual situation on the ground, triggered by\nseveral technical and administrative factors in the organisation of the\nsailing.<\/p>\n
Dudy stressed that orderly manifest administration is not merely a\nformal procedure, but a vital instrument for guaranteeing the safety and\nrights of every passenger. He ensured that the identification process\nwill continue until all passengers are properly and validly\nrecorded.<\/p>\n
