Minister reshuffles Danareksa's management<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Minister of Finance Mar'ie Muhammad reshuffled
\nthe management of the state-owned Danareksa securities company
\nyesterday following mass dismissals at the firm.<\/p>\n
Four of the company's five-member executive board were
\nreplaced, with Glenn Muhammad Surya Yusuf, formerly a director of
\nBahana Pembina Usaha Indonesia, the state-owned venture capital
\nfirm, being appointed as president to replace Rustam Effendi.<\/p>\n
The newly-appointed directors include Edgar E. Sujanto, Agus
\nProjosasmito and Iwan P. Pontjowinoto, while Susila Rahardja, a
\nmember of the previous executive board, will retain his previous
\njob.<\/p>\n
The minister refused to comment on the reshuffle.<\/p>\n
Director General for State Enterprises Martiono Hadianto said
\nthat the managerial changes have nothing to do with the
\ndismissals at the securities company, which has been appointed as
\nthe primary domestic underwriter of the public offering to be
\nundertaken later this year by the state-owned domestic
\ntelecommunications operator PT Telkom.<\/p>\n
Martiono said that the management reshuffle of Danareksa, the
\nprimary underwriter of PT Indosat's initial public offering last
\nyear, was mainly intended to improve the professionalism of the
\ncompany.<\/p>\n
Danareksa recently dismissed 280 of its employees in a bid to
\nimprove efficiency. The workers received compensation funds
\nranging from Rp 60 million to Rp 80 million each.<\/p>\n
Glenn, Danareksa's new president, said that most of the
\ncompany's directors were replaced \"to enable the company to run
\nfaster\".<\/p>\n
\"Danareksa remains one of the major securities companies
\nsupporting the domestic capital market,\" he said when he was
\nasked if the reshuffle was due to the company's poor performance.<\/p>\n
Appointees<\/p>\n
The newly-appointed members of Danareksa's executive board
\nwere among the 46 executives and commissioners of state-owned
\ncompanies installed by the minister yesterday.<\/p>\n
Other appointees included Director General for Financial
\nInstitutions Bambang Subianto, who was installed as chief
\nsupervisor of PT Asuransi Jasindo, Chairman of the Capital Market
\nSupervisory Agency Bacelius Ruru as the chief supervisor of PT
\nAsuransi Kecelakaan Jasa Raharja, Tax Director General Fuad
\nBawazier as commissioner of Bank Bumi Daya, Marzuki Usman as
\ncommissioner of Bank Dagang Negara, Chairman of the Agency for
\nMonetary and Finance Analysis Dono Iskandar as commissioner of
\nBank Rakyat Indonesia, Chairman of Export Facilitating Agency
\nTjoek Soeroso as commissioner of PT Jasa Rahardja.<\/p>\n
The minister also appointed I Made Marke as president of PT
\nAskrindo, Supardi as president of PT Asuransi Ekspor Indonesia
\nand Hanricus S. Barus as president of PT Perhotelan dan
