        "content": "<p>Minister of Religious Affairs (Menag) Prof KH Nasaruddin Umar has\nasserted that it is time for Indonesia to take up the baton of\nleadership for global Islamic civilisation. According to him, the Middle\nEast has fulfilled its role as the birthplace of Islam, while Indonesia\nnow possesses the strong capital required to become the epicentre of\nIslamic civilisation in the future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is no longer time for us to wait for too much from the Middle\nEast. The Middle East has completed its task of giving birth to Islam.\nBut the new baton of leadership for world Islamic civilisation, we hope,\nis in Indonesia,\u201d said Nasaruddin during the launch and discussion of\nthe book \u201cSeri Pemikiran Prof.\u00a0Dr.\u00a0Nasaruddin Umar\u201d at the UIN Syarif\nHidayatullah campus in Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised that Indonesia has several key advantages that serve as\na strong foundation for this leadership. These include stable economic\nconditions, relatively high economic growth, political stability, and a\nhigh level of social harmony. \u201cThe economic growth of the best Muslim\ncountry is Indonesia. We are above five per cent. Saudi Arabia is around\nthree per cent, the United Arab Emirates is four per cent, Qatar is two\nper cent. Our political stability is also the best, even though\nIndonesia is the most plural country,\u201d he stated.<\/p>",
