        "content": "<p>Minister of Immigration and Corrections (Imipas) Agus Andrianto led\nthe commemoration of the 62nd Correctional Services Day. He expressed\nhis desire for the correctional system to become a centre of excellence\nfor food products.<\/p>\n<p>Agus conveyed this in his speech at the Tangerang Immigration and\nCorrections Polytechnic on Monday (27\/4\/2026). He initially invited the\ncorrectional staff to evaluate what has not yet been achieved.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, on the 62nd Correctional Services Day, I invite us all to\nengage in deep reflection on what we have achieved, what we have not,\nand, more importantly, what we can do together to make the correctional\nsystem an integral part of national development,\u201d said Agus.<\/p>\n<p>He urged the correctional staff to take concrete steps that impact\nthe lives of inmates. He mentioned that inmates could be involved in\nsupporting the national food security programme.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn line with the government, one of our flagship programmes that is\nnow our main focus is national food security, which is directly\nintegrated with rehabilitation activities in prisons and detention\ncentres. We want inmates to become active agents in nation-building, not\nmerely passive objects of rehabilitation. Behind the walls of\ncorrectional institutions lies extraordinary potential from the\ninmates,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>Agus stated that his side is undergoing changes to make correctional\ninstitutions centres of sustainable, independent business. He mentioned\nthat inmates are trained and rehabilitated to become empowered upon\nreturning to society.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have thousands of workers ready to be trained and lands ready to\nbe cultivated. This potential is what we optimise to make the\ncorrectional system a centre of excellence in food products. We are\ntransforming correctional institutions into centres of independent,\nsustainable business that provide real contributions to the wider\ncommunity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the new face of our correctional system: not just confining\nbut building, not just restraining but empowering,\u201d he added.<\/p>",
