Minister of Home Affairs, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, has affirmed his
commitment to supporting the realisation of the three million homes
programme initiated by President Prabowo Subianto. The policy is
considered strategic for improving the welfare of the people.

He also asked regional leaders to seize the opportunity by utilising
the programme to help the community.

“This actually helps regional leaders as well. Because one of the
tasks of regional leaders is to improve the welfare and dignity of their
respective communities,” said Tito, in a written statement, Wednesday
(25/2/2026).

Tito conveyed this during the Coordination Meeting for Accelerating
Housing and Settlement Development in the Main Meeting Room, Ministry of
Home Affairs (Kemendagri), Jakarta.

He emphasised that the initiative is a joint programme involving the
central and regional governments. In addition, the programme also aims
to enable people to own homes at affordable prices.

Tito affirmed that his party is committed to continuously supporting
the implementation of the programme. One of the ways is through the
policy of exempting fees for Building Approval Permits (PBG) and Land
and Building Acquisition Tax (BPHTB) for low-income people (MBR).

“So that the price of these houses is cheap (affordable for MBR).
Developers sell at a lower price with exemptions for PBG and BPHTB. But
this PBG and BPHTB must be regulated by a Regional Regulation. We have
checked, and the Regional Regulations are all in order,” he added.

He said that the programme needs to be maximised by local governments
so that more people can benefit from it. Specifically, the steps that
can be taken by local governments are to carry out massive socialisation
of the programme.

In addition, local governments can also optimise the Public Service
Mall (MPP), which provides PBG and BPHTB licensing services.

“Those who have this will be helped, those who have a Public Service
Mall. Because PBG and BPHTB have outlets that can be completed quickly.
In fact, some can be completed in just one day or even a few minutes,”
continued Tito.
",
