Jumhur\nHidayat assesses there is potential for sustainable waste development at\nthe Final Waste Disposal Site (TPA) Sampah 2 Muara Fajar in Pekanbaru\nCity, Riau Province.<\/p>\n<p>Jumhur conveyed the opportunity for processing plastic waste through\nthe reuse concept as well as the application of Refuse Derived Fuel\n(RDF) technology. This technology is considered a strategic solution\nbecause it can transform waste into an alternative fuel replacing coal,\nthereby directly reducing carbon emissions and the environmental\npollution burden.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe see that this model has been successfully implemented in various\nother regions. We hope a similar system can be quickly realised in\nPekanbaru to accelerate the energy transition based on waste\nmanagement,\u201d said Environment Minister Jumhur at the Muara Fajar TPA in\nPekanbaru on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>As a concrete step, Jumhur stated that his side will soon conduct\nintensive coordination with experts and specialists experienced in\nconverting waste into energy. This effort is aimed at ensuring the\ntechnical planning to be implemented in Pekanbaru.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe encourage this processing to be realised optimally in a short\ntime. We will strengthen cross-sectoral coordination so that technical\nobstacles in the field can be quickly resolved,\u201d said the Environment\nMinister.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, there are still stages of technical improvements such as\nthe cut and fill process and the completion of administrative documents,\nbut the development commitment remains on track as planned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe continue to coordinate with related ministries for the completion\nof permits and technical recommendations so that this TPA truly provides\ngreat benefits to the community,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
