        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 The government is pushing for accelerated transformation of\nthe national aviation sector amid a range of challenges facing the\nindustry, from service quality to the dynamics of operating costs.\nMinister of Transport Dudy Purwagandhi assesses that the aviation sector\nis currently under public scrutiny, particularly regarding service\nquality and passenger travel experience that still needs improvement.\n\u2018We all understand that the aviation sector is currently facing various\nchallenges that are attracting broad public attention,\u2019 Dudy said in an\nofficial statement on Thursday, 5 March 2026. \u2018In an era of information\nopenness as today, any disruption to air services can quickly become\npublic attention and affect public confidence in the aviation industry,\u2019\nhe added. A number of issues that are often in the public spotlight\ninclude flight delays, airport facilities that are not yet fully\noptimal, and passenger travel experiences that are considered not yet\nfully satisfactory. On the other hand, the aviation industry also faces\nexternal dynamics that are not light. The challenges include\nfluctuations in aviation turbine fuel (avtur) prices, the need for\ninvestment in technology and infrastructure, and rising demands for\nhigher aviation safety standards. According to Dudy, the transformation\nof the aviation sector is aimed at improving aviation safety,\noperational efficiency, and service quality to the public. In addition,\nthe development of the concept of Airportpreneurship is encouraged so\nthat airports are not only transport hubs but also centres of economic\ngrowth. \u2018Modernisation of air navigation systems and improvements to\ninfrastructure quality also need to be undertaken in the\ntransformation,\u2019 Dudy said. \u2018This step is expected to increase service\ncapacity while strengthening safety and on-time performance of flights,\u2019\nhe added.<\/p>",
