        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM)\nBahlil Lahadalia has proposed that Indonesia serve as the location for\nbuilding an oil reserve storage hub for ASEAN countries. \u201cWe will build\nstorage anywhere, but yesterday I offered it to be in Indonesia,\u201d Bahlil\nstated when met at the Ministry of ESDM office in Jakarta on Monday. As\nof now, there is no agreement on where the ASEAN regional storage hub\nwill be built. Bahlil explained that to realise this proposal, Indonesia\nwill collaborate with Malaysia, Brunei, and the Philippines. Through the\nconstruction of this storage hub, Bahlil conveyed that ASEAN will have a\nsubstantial energy reserve to supply countries in Southeast Asia. \u201cIn\nSoutheast Asia, we yesterday formulated the idea to create a hub for oil\nreserve storage for ASEAN. This is a good idea,\u201d Bahlil said. This\nstatement relates to the results of Bahlil\u2019s visit to the Philippines.\nHe accompanied President Prabowo Subianto to discuss strategic energy\nsector issues at the 48th ASEAN Summit in Cebu, Philippines, on 7\u20138 May\n2026. During this visit, President Prabowo, along with Heads of State\nfrom ASEAN member countries, discussed various regional strategic\nagendas, including strengthening cooperation and ASEAN energy\nresilience. As part of this agenda, Bahlil accompanied the President in\nall meetings discussing strategic energy sector issues that are of\ncommon concern to ASEAN countries.
