Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Minister Bahlil Lahadalia has
stated that the price increase for non-subsidised fuel, particularly
Pertamax, was calculated wisely. It is known that the price of
non-subsidised Pertamax (RON 92) has risen from Rp12,300 to Rp16,250 per
litre, and Pertamax Green 95 (RON 95) has increased from Rp12,900 to
Rp17,000 per litre.

“Of course, this calculation has been carried out wisely by business
operators, both Pertamina and other private entities,” Bahlil told
reporters at the Presidential Palace Complex in Central Jakarta on
Thursday.

Meanwhile, Bahlil confirmed that subsidised fuels such as Pertalite
and subsidised LPG will not experience any price increase. “There has
been absolutely no change to the price of subsidised fuel or LPG,” he
said.

When asked whether the government would provide incentives to
maintain people’s purchasing power, Bahlil said the matter was still
under discussion. “The government is currently formulating matters
related to maintaining the public’s purchasing power. That is why, to
protect purchasing power, we have not raised subsidised fuel prices at
all. Meanwhile, adjustments have been made to others,” Bahlil
concluded.

Previously, Pertamina Patra Niaga announced price hikes for Pertamax
and Pertamax Green fuel products effective from 10 June 2026. According
to a company press release, the price adjustment was made after an
evaluation process in accordance with the pricing formula set by the
government.

“The price adjustment for Pertamax and Pertamax Green was decided in
coordination with the government as the regulator and carried out
according to a periodic evaluation mechanism, taking into account global
oil price developments and economic market prices,” said Pertamina Patra
Niaga Corporate Secretary Roberth MV Dumatubun. Roberth conveyed that
the adjustment of non-subsidised fuel prices was made in accordance with
prevailing regulations. “The selling price was decided while still
coordinating with the government as the regulator and is part of efforts
to ensure the sustainability of energy supply and the optimal
distribution of quality fuel for the public,” he explained.
",
